I want to save $10/week again in 2018, plus sock away any extra little bit that comes my way. We don't have any retirement funds set up (well dh might have a small 401k with work), and I want to work on that.

I might still do my envelopes for medical expenses, emergency fund, gas money -- or perhaps I'll start savings accounts for these... on my checking account, I can have up to 50 seperate savings accounts (I can move money from checking into them, but they won't be pulled from if checking gets overdrawn  accidentally).

This is what I'm currently thinking about (usually at night when I can't sleep).

Separate savings accounts for:
*Medical
*Gasoline?? or maybe will just keep this in envelope
*Groceries?? or maybe will just keep this in envelope
*Emergency fund
*Heloc-- I want to do a direct pull from this account for our HELOC (this is the main reason I started working again, to pay off more on it) -- when working out monthly payments I frequently forget to allow $$ for HELOC, then my budget is messed up.
*Christmas
*Vacation -- I want to go somewhere for mine & dh 20th wedding anniversary -- have just over 2 years, to save for that date.
*Retirement

Estimated Amounts for each account/envelope by month:
*Medical- $20-30/month
*Gasoline- $50-60/month
*Groceries- $300-400/month
*Emergency- $20-30/month plus 10% of my income; once I reach $10,000 (its a GIGANTIC number right now, but its 4 months expenses), I'll toss extra money at retirement fund.
*HELOC- $120 (current payment is $88, but that will change in March or April)
*Christmas- $20/month
*Vacation- $20/month
**Retirement- 10% of My monthly income, plus $20-40/month from paychecks from hubby (once I reach $1000-2000, I will put it in something bigger than this micro-yield savings account).
What bank allows you to have 50 savings accounts ? I have (ING) 360 Capital one and I think that I'm limited to 25 accounts :|

IC
Mountain America Credit Union does, at least it used to. I’ve never used more than 6.

I’m behind again on my spending calculations.
......
Did spend on Nov 21, 24, 27, 28, and will spend tomorrow Nov 30. Didn't spend on Nov 20, 22, 23, 25,26, or today Nov 29.

So my totals for Nov are:

Spend days: 11
No-spend days: 19

Yay!! I managed to get 4 days of no-spend past my hoped-for total of 15.

For December, I want to get 16 no-spend days. It's a spendy month though, between dd7’s bday, Christmas, foody neighbor gifts, and all the food Dh likes to have around New Year’s; still I think it can be done.

I know that I will be spending on Dec 1, as I’m traveling that day, and will also buy several pounds of gf sorghum, as well as gasoline.

So December will look like this:

Spend:
No-spend:

Wanting 16 days of no-spend.

You can do it Gayle. I was a bit more spendy this month and will have to pull back very soon. Seems as if next month could almost be as bad. While no spend days were okay (did more or less meet my goal, but not exceed it) the days I did spend were really spendy.

I Spent on Dec 1, 3, 5, 7, & 11. Today will be no spend, thanks to Subbing & food shopping last night.

My current totals are:

Spend: 5
No Spend: 7

Looks like I’m getting close to my desired 16 no spend days, even with dd8’s bday last Thursday

Wow!! 2 weeks have flown by like crazy since I last posted here.

Hopefully, my spending will drop off significantly with Christmas being over, and piano paid for. Now I need to save for 20th anniversary vacation in 2020 & Christmas next year. I have decided to Not try to go to Denmark with siblings & cousins in May.

Spending days as I can remember them, were Dec 14, 15?, 18, 21, 22, and 24.

So my totals are:
Spend: 10 (11?)
No-spend: 14

I may spend today, Dec 26, if I take dd8 and look for nice white dresses. Part of my problem is that I just don't want to be home right now, AND I want to have dd8’s dress issue resolved Now!
