Gayle's Gratitude Journal

Post by gaylejackson2 »

As I said in today's check-in (Jan 3), I'm going to create a Gratitude journal.

I complain WAY TOO MUCH, both on here, and IRL.. even if I don't voice it, I know I sure think negatively A Lot! So i'm trying to think positively, and to show appreciation for "things" yes, but also for people, and for life.

The "thing" that has pushed me to this, results from a friend's Facebook post On Jan 1st when she asked people what they were going to do differently, or more of, this year. My reply was: "I'm going to complain less, declutter more, and (hopefully) do more crafting for charity." I later thought about going back to amend my reply to "show more gratitude instead of complain less," I haven't yet done so, but I still want to challenge myself to post AT LEAST one Grateful or Happy thing here each day... or several!!

So....

Jan 1st, i thought that my happy thing could be that I was donating pretty dresses to help others.

Then I thought more about unused clothing in my closet, and I have contacted a lady who helps girls get (buy if possible, or donates if they can't) pretty semi- and formal dresses for dances. I have 2 nice semi-formal dresses perfect for dances, that I'm going to donate.

Jan 2nd- I was offered 2 more weeks (beyond this week) of subbing for this same 6th grade Language Art teacher. Oh yes please!! :)

Jan 3rd, today - I have been asked to help out with Parent Teacher Conferences, and to attend Faculty & staff meetings. Why does this make me feel grateful?? Becasue this tells me that they are accepting me as "one of their own.

Today I'm grateful for the 4 quizzes that my 5 classes had to do today! Hurray!! :) They Had to be quiet, mainly because Mrs Jackson insisted that they do that so their classmates could focus!
