Went to bed at 3:00 AM and woke up around 5:45 AM. At least I was able to get a few more hours of sleep in during the wee early morning hours. Teddi of course is asleep. I envy his ability to fall asleep so easily..lol.

alliesmama4 wrote: Fri Jan 10, 2020 3:09 am Good morning. I can hear the gentle pitter patter of rain on my roof and windows. We have a mild temp of ( 51 F) (10.55 C). It will get warmer as the day goes on up to ( 59 F) (15 C). As the day progresses we are expecting monsoon rain. We are in the 3 to 4 inch category. Hard to believe this is January. We are expecting massive flooding. I hope this does not turn out to be a sign of what spring will be like. We had prolonged flooding in Spring last year and it affected farming extensively. Today when I was driving in to town I saw a field of dried corn from last year. It was only about half the height of what corn should be plus this is January it should not even be in the field.

I saw the spinal specialist yesterday. After reviewing my medical history he said, "you have a hell of a lot wrong with you but you look good especially for 74."...lol. He told me my only option is extensive back surgery. I have multiple areas of spinal stenosis ( the opening where the spinal cord goes through the spine is narrowing) and pinched nerves as well as a scoliosis. However since I had a systemic cortisone shot that has reduced my pain to almost 0 I do not need surgery at this time. He said, "you are the one who will decide when you want surgery." He suggested physical therapy but since that is what I did for a living he has agreed to let me do my exercises at home. When the time comes I am going to seek a second opinion before doing any surgery.

I was wiped out when I came home since I had to drive myself to St. Louis due to my aide is still off sick. I had a very long wait with more x-rays at the Drs office. Then drove home and had to stop at Petco to pick up Teddi's dog food and then stopped to put gas in my car. When I arrived home I let Teddi out of his crate and we took a walk around the yard since he had been in his crate for so long. I walked and he ran lol. Barely got back in the house and had a call from my pharmacy that my RX was ready. That was good since it was not suppose to be ready until today after 2:00 PM when we are expecting monsoon rains.

I asked Teddi if he would like to go for a ride, he stood up on his back legs and did his little happy dance. He then swirled in joyful circles all the way out to the car.lol Drove back in to town. While there I went grocery shopping since they had some good bargains. Came home and ate a late lunch/early dinner and fell asleep on the couch around 4:00 PM. Did not wake up until 11:00 PM. Yikes will be awake all night I guess. Bummer!

Weather wise glad I am home for the duration. We are expecting 3 to 4 inches of rain today with extensive flash flooding and then tomorrow a possibility of severe storms and the cherry on the sundae is slushy snow late Saturday. Got to love the weather in the Midwest or get out. I bought a box of premade logs at the grocery store. They will burn for 4 hours. I thought it would be nice to have a fire going today and tomorrow. The heat is not that great from them but a nice little fire will make it more cheerful with the overcast sky and rain. I love when it rains so I will enjoy the rain with a nice fire in the fireplace. A good time to read and sip a nice cup of tea with Teddi all snuggled down on a pillow beside me in my recliner.

Keeping all in my prayers for their various needs and concerns.

Have a good and frugal day everyone.
I love hearing about Teddi, Teddi sounds so much like my Dog, he loved walks and rides and would spin in circles with joy.

So dh may be coming home today or tomorrow, the infection is under control for now. He can continue with pills

They can't really do more until dh is willing to have the amputation done

Dh is hopefully that it won't be needed.

Ps, again thank you so much.

Today is garbage day, I managed to move the old microwave out. I put a fleece throw over my rollator and slid the microwave onto it. Rolled it outside then slid it to the floor. I wrote trash on the back since it was a light gray. I then put my trash on top of it.

Breakfast was cold cereal, my coffee is cooler than I would like. I put a lot of milk in and I like to warm it up a bit in the microwave.

I washed the counter where my microwave was, I also sprayed it with bleach. It was very dirty under there. The microwave had been there for almost 10 years. I bought it April 2, 2010.

Yesterday, I did very little other then deal with looking for a new microwave. I did 2 loads of new sheets. They are folded and in my cupboard. I bought them to replace the ones with holes.

This has been a very expensive month. What with my sheets, new dresses, the microwave. I also have 2 doctors appointments with copays.

I need to clean the rest of my kitchen counters. As I will have to move my dish drainer to the other side.

Dogs are so amazing in how they show their excitement and happiness. Has your pup passed over the rainbow bridge? Sounds like you wrote about him in the past tense.

Icfrugal. Sorry I must have missed the thread about your DH being in the hospital.. Hope he will continue to be ok and get better. Will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.
