Good morning fellow frugalites,

We had a thunderstorm move through last night with some more rain. Good thing Hubby weeded the garden yesterday afternoon.

Today we head into the city to see the preseason football game. Should be interesting as the weather pundits have been predicting rain for the morning and afternoon. We all know how accurate these guys are. I am taking my umbrella and a couple of rain ponchos along just in case.

It will not be a frugal day (there is going to be a great many of those this summer and fall), but it one we enjoy or at least Hubby and youngest DS do. I may get to miss a few more this year. Hubby has promised his one sister to take her to a game, and he always takes his brother to a couple. Oldest DS will actually be home for one so he can go as well. I think I might actually miss one more than last year!!! A day at home sewing and reading.

I need to get started on my daily chores, as we will be leaving at around 3 pm and things need to be cleaned up before we go.

Off to get the day started.

Today I am grateful the rain seems to be happening at night lately so I still get a walk in the mornings.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

That really surprised me

Anyway - going to be another very warm day. Trying to get used to it.

Was going to take ill sibling to an appointment, but she said she is feeling so well, she is taking herself. She has already been to stores etc.

I slept better last night. Did take baby Benadryl. Did limit my liquid intake. Only had to get up once. The pack slept in until 720.

Lets see what mischief we get into today.

Have sheets and towels drying up in the laundry room so sitting here waiting for them so I can put them back on the bed.

I feel like I'm doing OK right now with my "new" life. This summer (August no activities) I am planning to do something with the town seniors almost every Tuesday. There's a big barbecue coming up on the 19th, but since it's sponsored by the county rather than the town, there will be thousands in attendance (3000 attended the last function they sponsored - not sure I'm ready for that). Our town sponsoring a trip to the local casino (a place I've wanted to go but never been), a picnic, a minor league baseball game, and a trip to a Maritime Museum. There are two other trips planned but I've already been to Liberty State Park (Statue of Liberty and a trip to see a movie (I'm funny when it comes to movies - so passing on this one.

One of the two Catholic churches has their carnival starting on the 19th so I'm looking forward to that. My coloring group ends this coming Monday and I will miss it, but have the other activities that will help close the gap until it starts again in September.

Have started going to the occasional yard sale and there is a community one tomorrow in Sleepy Hollow that I plan on going to. I'm not planning on buying anything unless I find something really unusual that I like and want, but rather just going for the purpose of doing something fun.

When I finish up here, I'm thinking of making a sandwich and going to another river front park other than the one I normally go to as parking during the week is permit only for the train. This other park is segregated from the train station parking and has about 10 spaces dedicated solely for it.

Well think I"ll go for now. Have a great day.

Good morning ... 78 and sunny right now. Kitty, I think you must have gotten the rain. We had thunder and lightning last night, but not a drop.
Finally got to my errands last night, then watched the Caps win the Stanley Cup. Wild game!
Clem, I was shocked to hear about Bourdain's death, too. Such a shame. I always enjoyed his shows.
Today ... still working on that backload of bedding, etc., for the laundry, then onto the backload of housecleaning that needs to be done, too. But first need to clean up some paid work.
