Daily Check in June 12, 2018

Post by mbrudnic » Tue Jun 12, 2018 5:57 am

Good Morning,

Nothing too exciting to report. I need to stop by the apartment management office and ask them to send the exterminator to my place. Ants! It's that time of the year.

DS called asking what I had to eat while I got to a pizza restaurant with my group, so he joined us and engaged in good conversation.

HAve a great day,
Maggie

Good Tuesday morning all,

This visit to the eye specialist was not pleasant. They did a dilation and evaluation of both eyes. Took photos. Then the shot. Normally, a dilation wears off in an hour or two. This one continued with discomfort. I wore my sunglasses inside and as soon as possible, just went to bed. This morning both eyes look stressed. But I can see without everything being in a halo.

Today, I plan to do very little for the first half of the day. I will take my morning walks today which uses up an hour and a half. Also do laundry. And some organizing. If I feel good, I will go to the store and get some staples we are running low on. Otherwise not. I should be back to normal by afternoon. I always figure on losing 24 hours after the eye doctor. Some months, I feel great. But some are like this.

My roll up porch blinds came in. I will take them out today. A few can go up as is, but many windows are a bit smaller than 36" and will need to be cut.

Hubs said we spent a lot in May. I looked at his expense sheet and couldn't see what he was talking about. He couldn't find the item or issue either when he looked. His spreadsheet is pretty primitive. It doesn't distinguish between money drawn from savings for long term purposes and regular expenses. If we didn't have his expense report, his fears would boil out of control. So it is good for us.

Today, I am grateful that I feel better. Have a good day everyone. Be safe and healthy.

Good morning.. It is a cool 69 here right now. Last night we had a heat index of 102 with storms. I think this is pretty much what our pattern of weather is going to be for the next several days.. I was able to get more yard work done yesterday only 10 min here and there before it got too hot. However the areas around my house are looking so much better.

Received a report from my Drs office that I have severe arthritis in my spine from the cervical to lumbar areas with scoliosis in two different area. Also my left hip has significant arthritis. ,, I am amazed that I can do as much work as I do without more pain.. I think the short periods of activity make a difference so that I do not over do things. Not much going on today. I am just going to be puttering in the kitchen.. My aide will be here for 5 hours so she can do the heavy duty things cleaning the house..

Have a good day and frugal day. Janet Alliesmama

Good morning fellow frugalites,

Pretty cool out right now, so I will be wearing my jacket when I go for my morning walk. The afternoon walks could be a bit different.

I have the usual Tuesday chores and wrist exercises, and I added a couple since we moved the yarn downstairs. I plan on doing a bit of a tidy up in that area of the house. It may take awhile, but it will be so nice to be organized once again.

I also have one job from yesterday that I did not complete, so I will get that done today as well.

I have been doing some research on Made in Canada products in response to certain things that are happening. The first thing I researched and found was cat food, a bit more on the expensive side, but something I want to try. To me if our neighbour and what used to be our closest ally can treat us badly, I am sorry but I think I am going protectionist as well. If enough Canadians refuse to buy any imported product from the U.S. perhaps the manufacturers would put pressure on the president and he would stop this trade war (mind you he gets the numbers all backwards). At least this is my and my friends hope.

So researching other items is on the agenda as well.

I finished the scarf and started another. I don't like the looks of this one but will continue to knit it up. It is moving a good deal quicker than the first one.

Frugality wise this will be another no spend day, blinds will be opened to let in the light, windows opened to let cool breezes and fresh air in, meals made here at home with what is on hand, and all the other usual frugal happenings will be occurring. I will also be using rain water from the barrel to water most of my plants. The hanging baskets are a bit high for me to reach with the can so those will need to be watered with the hose.

Supper this evening is going to be the leftover pork. I am going to use a package of grated zucchini up as well. Making the Pork Zucchini bake.

Today I am grateful for computers to do research on.

Everybody have a great day. Take care.

I don't watch the tv news but do listen to local talk radio when I am out and about.

I can't believe how this trade stuff is going . Good for you Jackie. The milk thing - y'all probably have better milk and cheese.

Slept much better last night. Of course I did take baby Benadryl. But I was just dragging from the night before.

I also limited my liquid intake. I like to be sipping on something but guess that has to go. I only got up once. I did have to get up to use a throat lozenge. I guess I am still draining and it lodges in my throat. It wakes me up.

Today will do more purging. A little at a time.

Have a great day.
