1 apple peeled and sliced per person
2 tablespoons of real butter in a large frying pan
salt and pepper
sugar and cinnamon
heat frying pan with butter until hot but not smoking
add sliced apples, salt and pepper as you like
fry as with potatoes, turning with a pancake turner as they brown on each side and cook thru....adjust heat accordingly
when cooked thru add sugar and cinnamon, turn off the heat put a lid on the pan and let set for 4or 5 minutes. sugar will caramelize on apple slices.
I really had to think about this as we have always just made them, never thinking about proportions...family dish.
