Before you put your garden tools away for the year, take a few minutes to clean and oil them. It’s a simple task that will greatly extend the life of your tools. Here’s how it’s done.
What You’ll Need:
A wire brush
What You Do:
Clean your tools thoroughly. Use a wire brush to remove any rust. Then, let them dry.
Rub linseed oil into the metal portion of your tools. Wipe off the excess.
Rub linseed oil into any wooden handles. Continue to apply oil until the wood stops absorbing it. Then, wipe off the excess.
Store your garden tools in the garage or shed until next spring.
