How to Make Garlic Salt From Fresh Garlic
Growing your own garlic, or just have a lot of fresh garlic on hand? Use some of it to make your own shelf-stable garlic salt from scratch. It’s easy.
Just peel 1/2 cup of garlic cloves (about four bulbs worth).
Then, place them in a food processor, with one cup of salt.
Pulse, until the garlic is minced, and the mixture is the consistency of wet sand.
Then, spread your garlic salt out on a baking sheet, and dry it in a 175 degree oven for one hour, or until it feels dry to the touch.
Transfer the mixture to a clean food processor, and pulse, until you’re satisfied with the consistency. Then, store it in an air-tight container.
