Leave those fried tortilla chips at the store. You can make your own tastier, healthier, cheaper version in under 15 minutes. Here’s how:
How to Make Tortilla Chips
Cook Time:
10-12 minutes
Ingredients
(8) corn tortillas
Cooking oil
Salt
What You Do:
Place the tortillas under a damp paper towel, and microwave for 30 seconds to soften.
Oil and salt both sides of your tortillas.
Stack the tortillas on top of each other, and cut them into wedges. A pizza cutter makes quick work of this, but a knife will work, too.
Stick the tortilla wedges on a cookie sheet, and bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
Your chips are done when they’re crispy and lightly browned.
Tips:
- If you have over-sized cookie sheets (half sheets), you can do 10 tortillas at a time
- Sprinkle your chips with chili powder for an added kick or cinnamon and sugar for a sweet treat
