Places You Can Stay in a Yurt

Ever wondered what it’s like to stay in a yurt? Why not find out on your next vacation? Yurts are usually cheaper than hotel rooms, and in my experience they’re quite a bit nicer.
They typically come equipped with electricity, air conditioning, heat, a ceiling fan, furniture and nice flooring.
Some even have a small kitchen or wood stove.
Most sleep four to six people, so they’re perfect for families. And linens are often included in the price.
But the best part: instead of noisy neighbors and an asphalt parking lot outside your door, you get a private deck, a fire pit and gorgeous scenery.
Sound like your kind of accommodations? Here are a bunch of places where you can stay in a yurt in the U.S. and Canada. Most will run you $50-70 a night, but there are a few options on this list that cost as little as $35.

State Parks With Yurts
If you’re traveling to a popular tourist destination, you can often avoid marked up accommodations by staying in a state park. To learn more about any of the yurts listed below, just Google the name of the park. Some of these parks handle their own reservations on their website; others use Reserve America. I’ve noted the town each park is located in to help you with your vacation planning.
If you don’t see a state listed, it’s because I wasn’t able to locate any yurts in that state. Feel free to email me, if you know of a place I’ve missed.

The Florida location is not far from where I live. It’s gorgeous!
Hint: late Fall and Winter are best times for staying in a yurt. The Spring and Summer seasons get pretty warm with lots of unbearable humidity (even for native Floridians).
Bring lots of mosquito repellent if you come during Spring and Summer. Watch out for rattlesnakes, Pigmy Vipers (a shorter deadlier version of rattlesnake), Black Snake (non-poisonous) and Water Moccasins (poisonous). These are the snakes seen most often around here.
