I’ve never seen a store-bought advent calendar with big enough pockets, so this year I decided to do something about it. Or maybe I should say, I decided to d-i-y something about it. That advent calendar that you see above? It’s made from a shoe organizer. You know, the kind that’s designed to hang on the back of a door?
It has 24 pockets, so it works perfectly as an advent calendar, and it has lots of room for gifts. Just imagine what you could fit in those pockets.
Better yet, skip the imagining, and just start shopping for your advent calendar gifts because I’m making my advent calendar available to you as a free printable.
Just print the calendar cards that go in the pockets, cut them out, and slip them into a shoe organizer. Then, hang your advent calendar on the back of a door, and you’re in business!
I recommend printing the numbers on card stock to make them a bit more sturdy. This will keep them looking nice year after year.
Before you hit print, make sure the print “actual size” option is selected in your print manager. Sometimes printers default to the “fit” setting, and this will cause the cards to print a bit smaller than intended.
Many web browsers have their own built-in PDF viewers, but they tend to be buggy. If you’re having trouble printing or editing one of our printables, click here for help.
