I’ve been a BzzAgent since 2005, and over the years they’ve hooked me up with some pretty cool stuff, including a free Sonicare toothbrush. Here’s a look at some of the stuff that they’ve sent me over the last nine years:
- Take 5 candy bars
- Windex Microfiber Cloths
- A variety of Off products
- Coppertone sunscreen
- Eucerin lotion
- A coupon for a free Perdue Oven Ready Roaster
- Various Special K Nourish products
- Fiber One bars
- Coupons for free Old El Paso products
- Green Giant Veggie Snack Chips
- Several different razors
- Coupons for free Saute Express products
- Maggi So Juicy products
- Several new-release books
- the Sonicare toothbrush, and later a UV sanitizer for it
- tons of Kroger products, and free coupons for a bunch more
And you see all that stuff pictured above? I got it with a bunch of coupons that they sent me last week. Pretty cool, huh?
How BzzAgent Works:
Now that we’ve talked about the loot, let’s talk about how the program works.
BzzAgent is a word-of-mouth marketing company. Other businesses hire them to help spread the word about their products, and they do that by sending them out to people to try. Becoming one of those people is easy (and free); you just go to BzzAgent.com and sign up.
Once you’ve joined, there are a bunch of surveys that you can complete to increase your chances of getting invited into campaigns. They’re quick and painless, and you may even earn MyPoints for doing them.
After you’ve knocked that task out, just sit back and wait; they’ll e-mail you whenever they have a campaign that they think you’re right for.
Your First Invitation
When an invite arrives in your inbox, it’ll tell you everything you need to know about the campaign – who it’s for, when it starts, what they’ll send you, etc. There will also be a link to accept the invitation. Just click on that link, and it’ll take you to a pre-campaign survey. Spend a minute filling it out, and your package (called a BzzKit) will soon be on its way.
Your First BzzKit
Your BzzKit will come stuffed with all sorts of goodies – full-size products or coupons for free products, coupons to share with your friends and maybe even free samples for you to pass out. It’ll also have a brochure that tells you everything you need to know about the product(s) and the campaign.
Generating Buzz
Being a good BzzAgent is all about creating buzz for the products that they send you. If you love something that you tried, tell your friends and family about it (in person, over the phone, via social media – whatever works for you). Then, log into BzzAgent to tell them about it. Each campaign has a page for you to submit reviews, BzzReports, photos and more. The more you do, the more points you’ll be rewarded; and the agents with the most points get invited into the most campaigns.
Not in love with something you tried? You can tell them that, too (I have). BzzAgent is all about keeping it real. In fact, they require you to tell everyone you talk to that you’re a BzzAgent and that they sent you the products for free. My kind of company.
